Not as easy as I thought…
Last week I started updating this blog. I wanted it to be as funtional as could possibly be. I’m not a code-monkey, I don’t know html, or PHP, or anything except hunt and peck.
But, I’ve added a bunch of community links to the sidebar on your right and then, one by one, edited each one with a pop-up window of media links. Some have video, pictures, documents and links or a combination thereof. When the window opens, look at the bottom. There will be little thumbnails of what’s available, and if you click on one it will activate the media.
In addition, I’ve added a widget to the sidebar at the right, towards the bottom with a google map and a window allowing you to see what events are happening in the area by date. Just click the day you want, and enter the city and it will give you what’s going on. It doesn’t list everything, so I’m in the process of adding a seperate page to the blog of community events. It’s been pretty complicated getting it set up so far. I should have it properly coded in a couple of days (I hope!) and then I’ll embed it on it’s own page. I’ve subscribed to 5 different services that list events in the area, and bookmarked a couple of dozen private sites of organizations and will manually enter all this in. After that, I will need your help. If you have an event or happening coming up, please forward the information via the link on the Events page and I’ll load it up here and forward it to the other events services.
What a guy! (makes me cry)
