Tri Cities Washington Professional Hockey Team Elevates their Biggest Fan to Immortality
There are many reasons I’ve been a big booster of the advantages of living in the Tri Cities WA. I’ve written about them often enough! But let me add another. Only here, from our professional hockey team, would you find the biggest fan of that club being immortalized with his own bobblehead doll!
Everyone who’s been to a Tri Cities Americans hockey game in the past few years has heard the stentorian cry “Waa Hoo!” echo from the rafters of the coliseum in Kennewick whenever an Americans goal is scored. And every child who’s been in the energetic section where this originates has been fist-bumped by the source of that battle cry, Jimmy “Waa Hoo” Butcher.
If you’ve not heard the story of this remarkable fan, see this article from the Tri City Herald.
The Tri Cities Americans organization recently announced that Jimmy has been immortalized as a commemorative, limited-edition bobblehead doll to be passed out at tomorrow night’s hockey game.
Just another example of the Tri Cities Washington being both a big enough city for professional sports to thrive and yet still retain the small town appeal of that same sports team recognizing its fans!
Congratulations, Jimmy, from the Tri City Home Team!
