About Us
The Tri City Home Team was started because I felt the Tri City area in Washington state needed a fresh look at the business of real estate that would provide a new way of meeting people’s needs- one that was both relationship oriented as well as incorporating all the new tools and technology that are required in the current age of internet and other technology.
From my family, I had a varied background in real estate. We bought our first rental prefab in Richland when I was 11, and completely renovated it ourselves. This began a decade of buying these little houses to renovate and rent. By junior high, I was in charge of getting the financing together, and worked with the city of Richland getting grants and loans for the renovation of them.
I went off to WSU and then spent 4 years as a securities dealer, opened the first coffee house in the Tri Cities, followed by 7 years in real estate finance, and acquired an intimate knowledge of the new technologies driving the future of the real estate business.
I started this blog because I noticed that, while there are a lot of web sites and other blogs in the area devoted to real estate, and some that write a little about the area, I wanted a site that provided information and links to all the wonderful outdoor recreation clubs, sports groups, performing and visual arts groups, charities and other community-based organizations, and a central hub for all the activities and events happening in our area. I also found that, while there are a large number of groups that need volunteer help, there was no place for people who wanted to volunteer time to go and find these groups. We needed a way of getting the needers and the helpers together! So I’ve added a page with information for this too.
As time passes and I’m able to improve on the underlying tools of the site, I hope to build this site up so that you have a place to drop in for information on things to do in our vibrant community, hyperlocal news about us, some real estate advice, and add your views to what I write about.
Welcome!
